Garlic Mashed Potatoes

We love mashed potatoes and I've been searching for the best mashed potato recipe to store in our recipe vault, that is THIS blog.

This creamy mashed potatoes recipe fits my vision for the perfect mashed potatoes.

They are smooth, creamy, buttery, fluffy, and light as air.

I made these potatoes last Thanksgiving and we were blown away with their deliciousness.  It has taken me five months to post the recipe to the blog.  Oh well, better late then never.

Salmon was my plan for dinner tonight, and I needed a side dish that wasn't rice.  Mashed potatoes was the answer.

Can you boil potatoes with garlic?

Yes, you can!  Its the secret to more flavorful mashed potatoes.  I put ten garlic cloves in the post with the peeled potatoes, and brought the garlic and potatoes to a boil for about 20 minutes.

Can you make garlic mashed potatoes with garlic powder?

Yes.   You would want to stir the garlic powder in when you add the chicken stock and milk.

What is garlic mashed potatoes?

I've been to many restaurants that serve delicious creamy potatoes, and typically their "house" mashed potatoes are garlic mashed potatoes.  I'd never given much thought to how they make this dish until now.  It simply means that you include garlic cloves with the potatoes in the stock pot before pouring water over potatoes and boiling.  The process of boiling together with the potatoes infuses a garlic flavor in the otherwise bland potatoes, that adds a spark of delicious taste to this side. dish.

What goes with garlic mashed potatoes?

Roast turkey, pork cutlets, steak, fish, fried chicken, and the list goes on.  My kids love mashed potatoes.  I'm glad I have our favorite recipe saved now for all time.

These mashed potatoes are such a delicious side dish that work with so many main dishes, and generally make everyone happy.

Hope you enjoy them too!!
