Peppermint bark pieces on a white plate with candy canes.

Oh my goodness, how I love peppermint bark.  Homemade peppermint bark, to be more specific.

I'm seriously so excited that this peppermint bark recipe is SO easy to throw together.

I can see myself whipping this bark up several times in the next few weeks.

This white chocolate peppermint bark recipe also includes a layer of semi sweet chocolate on the bottom.   The combo of white chocolate and semi sweet with the peppermint is just perfect.

Tips for this ghiradelli peppermint bark recipe:

  1. Use good quality chocolate.  We used Ghirardelli semi sweet and white chocolate bars.  You can usually find them in your supermarket's baking aisle.  They melt so well and have such a rich creamy taste.
  2. For crushing the candy canes, I placed them in a ziploc bag and used a mini mallet to crush them.  It worked really well and was a quick process.

Making homemade candy is a bit of a new venture for me.  I have to say, I love it.  Fresh candy like my fudge with marshmallows and chocolate peanut clusters have been huge hits in my household.

Can't wait to try more candy recipes.  Maple fudge with pecans sounds so good....this might be next on the candy making adventure.

Hope this bark recipe helps round out your Christmas cookie tray this year.

Enjoy this bark!
