Oh my goodness, these chocolate white chocolate chip cookies are BEYOND indulgent and delicious with their amazing ooey gooey and fudgey yumminess.
I love the texture of these cookies. They're like cookie shaped brownies with semi sweet and white chocolate chips melting inside.
I'm always looking for white chocolate chip recipes and after making this one, I have to say this just might be my favorite one. These are decadent, soft and chewy, with a slightly crispy top. What more can you as for? I also like the semi sweet to white chocolate chip ratio.
White chocolate chips are a bit sweeter than semi sweet, so I think including more of the semi sweet with a touch of white chocolate is a good mix.
I know some people refer to these types of cookies as inside out chocolate chip cookies. Since I also included semi sweet chips, I guess they're not fully inside out, but almost.
Tips for these soft and chewy white chocolate chip cookies:
- Definitely remember to CHILL THE DOUGH for at least 3 hours. The dough is sticky once you mix it up. Chilling helps the dough come together, makes it easier to work with, and will help to ensure that the cookies will cook into puffy delicious cookies as opposed to flat spread out, not as delicious cookies.
- Use a cookie scoop for the 2 tablespoons of dough and roll in between your hands for a smooth ball of dough before placing on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Cooking the cookies for 10 minutes is perfect. Don't mess with it! No more cooking and no less. The cookies will look soft after cooking, but that's how they're supposed to look. They settle after 5 minutes of cooling into beautiful morsels of perfection.
These chocolate white chocolate chip cookies are perfect for gifts on a special occasion. They are just so decadent and unique, they are perfect for any celebration.
These chocolate white chocolate chip cookies make any day enormously better.
So, so good. Have I gushed enough?
Enjoy!

Chocolate White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Soft chocolate white chocolate chip cookies recipe with nestle semi sweet and white chocolate chips. This is a heavenly fudgey brownie like cookie that is now one of my favorite desserts!
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup light or dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons natural unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp fine sea salt
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 cup semi sweet morsels
- ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips to sprinkle on top
Instructions
-
In a stand mixer, beat the butter for 1 minute on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat the butter and sugar mixture on medium high speed until flurry and light in color.
-
Beat in the egg and vanilla on high speed, scraping down the sides as needed to make sure ingredients are fully incorporated.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt until combined. Slowly mix the the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
-
Turn the speed up to high on your mixer and beat in the milk, then the semi sweet chips and white chocolate chips.
-
Cover dough tightly with plastic wrap and place in fridge to chill for at least 3 hours.
-
After chilling time, remove dough from fridge and let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 300 degrees. Use a cookie scoop to scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough. Roll between hands to create round balls of dough. Place on parchment paper lined baking sheets.
-
Bake the cookies for approximately 10 minutes. The centers of the cookies will look soft and this is ok. Immediately, gently add 4-5 white chocolate chips on top of the warm cookie. You will want to slightly push the chips into the soft spots of the cookie.
-
After cooling for about 5 minutes, the white chocolate chips will settle into the cookie. After settling for 5 minutes, transfer cookies to a wire rack for further cooling.
