Delicious and Easy tofu scramble you can whip up in the morning in no time to start your day with a healthy, filling, yet light breakfast.
I made this recipe for the first time a week ago. We have now made it three times since. Super Yummy!
There are only 7 ingredients and it takes about 10 minutes to prepare and serve.
The texture is very similar to scrambled eggs and tastes perfect with chopped red peppers and spring onions mixed in for a boost of veggies in the morning.
Ingredients you will need for Tofu Scramble:
- 16 oz extra firm tofu
- Olive Oil
- Nutritional Yeast
- Kosher salt
- Turmeric
- Garlic Powder
- Coconut Milk.
How do you make tofu scramble?
- Heat up saute pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour olive oil in a saute pan.
- Add in tofu by crumbling with your hands.
- Stir tofu for 5 minutes, then add in nutritional yeast, kosher salt, turmeric, and garlic powder. Stir for 5 minutes.
- Add in coconut milk and stir for 1-2 minutes.
What can I add to tofu scramble?
Any veggies you enjoy. In my experience, red peppers, spring onions, and mushrooms work really well. I also like to add a few shakes of seasoning salt (I like the one from Trader Joe's) as my tofu scramble seasoning.
Do I have to press the tofu block before preparing the scramble?
No, for a scramble you do not need to press the tofu block. The water cooks out of the tofu within the first few minutes you are stirring the tofu in the saute pan. For most tofu recipes, you will need to press the tofu in order for the tofu to have a crispy texture, and not smooshy.
Will my scramble keep well in the refrigerator?
Yes! I've kept leftovers in the fridge for up to three days in an airtight container, and it still tastes delicious.

Tofu Scramble
Easy vegan tofu scramble recipe for a delicious and healthy breakfast. You will be surprised what a delicious substitution this is for scrambled eggs.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 16 oz extra firm tofu block
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp coconut milk
Instructions

Add olive oil to hot saute pan turned up to medium high heat.

Crumble tofu into pan. Using wooden spoon, stir tofu constantly for 5 minutes.

Add in nutritional yeast, salt, turmeric, and garlic powder. Work into tofu and stir constantly for 5 minutes.

If you're adding in veggies, add them in now and stir for a minute.

Add in coconut milk and cook for 1-2 minutes.
